DURING
THE SHOW

How warm is it during the shows?

The Riding House is a 400 year old building and the walls measure 1,20 metres. The temperatures inside adapt very slow to the temperatures outside. It is pleasurable cool in summer and mild in winter. Still we heat the total stand with infrared radiant heaters. People who freeze very fast should also wrap up or bring a blanket. We only offer a limited number of blankets for our guests.

What seats are available?

The number of seats in our historic Riding House is limited and you sit very close to the events. You have a likewise good view on the arena from all seats. Nevertheless many guests prefer seats in the middle. The chairs are made of solid wood and they have armrests and seat pads (seats 1 to 139). They are convenient for guests up to around 120 kg. Should you know from experience that you do not fit into conventional seating furniture, please contact us via phone for a special seat in the front row. The front row consists of wooden folding chairs with seat pads (seats 140 to 200). We only set up these chairs when all other seats are reserved. These chairs are a bit less comfortable. In our lodges we have soft cushioned chairs for our guests.

Have a look at the numbering on the seat plan:

Why can I not choose my seats?

A computersystem, especially developed for us, allots the seats on the evening before a show. Up until this time our guests can book guaranteed seats with the help of our FAVOURITE SEATS OPTION . If you did not explicitly book the favourite seats option the link in your confirmation email is deactivated. In this case the automatic booking system allots your seats. For a charge you can upgrade to the favourite seats option by phone under 0049 (0) 5722- 898350 or by mail to buchung@hofreitschule.de

We offer riding lessons to everyone, who is interested in historic Riding Art. Precondition is an own horse, a safe seat independent from the reins in all gaits, theoretical understanding of sidewalks, as well as the attendance of minmum two Riding Art Workshops at the Courtly Riding School. We also explicitly recommend to read the book „Du entscheidest – Reiten mit gutem Gewissen“.

Can I also get a lesson with a mare?

As we only have stallions at the Courtly Riding School, mares can only come for single units and need to depart directly after. A longer stay in our stables is only possible a few weeks a year. Mares in heat are unfortunately not welcome.

Upon request the horse can stabled for one or more days. We charge 15 € per day for the accomodation. The horse gets a stall in our guest horses stable, which is not open for public.
